Become a Brakeman/Brakewoman!

Often the first step in joining bobsleigh, the brakeman/brakewoman position helps athletes learn about the sport of bobsleigh in a hands-on capacity. Outside of pushing the sled and pulling the brakes at the end of the run, you will learn how to set up and maintain the sled as well as other aspects of the sport often not seen by the general public. It is a great way to learn how the sport works and the responsibilities involved with running your own sled before moving on to be a pilot. If piloting does not interest you we can help you progress down the crew path.

It is easy and affordable to become a brakeman/woman, participants only pay $50 for the annual BCBSA membership and can slide all season!

To become a brakeman/brakewoman or if you have any further questions, please email Ryan Taal, the Bobsleigh Head Coach.
