Lead, Lodge Attendant

Job Location: 
Whistler Athletes Centre

The Lead, Lodge Attendant is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness at the Whistler Athletes’ Centre including Lodge, Townhomes, and High Performance Centre. 
This role is organized and friendly and works well leading a team while demonstrating the Whistler Sport Legacies’ philosophy that All Interactions Matter (AIM).  This regular full time position requires flexibility to work weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities: 
  • Champion all WSL company policies and procedures
  • Assist Supervisor in interview process for Lodge Attendant roles
  • Under Supervisor direction, assist and execute Lodge Attendant job specific training
  • Create daily housekeeping work lists itemizing detailed information based on arrivals and departures in Smart Hotel
  • Lead and organize the Lodge Attendant team to undertake and complete daily and weekly tasks
  • Instruct, train, and guide the Lodge Attendant team to ensure consistency with Housekeeping standards of work
  • Inspect and monitor daily housekeeping operations to ensure timelines and cleanliness standards are being achieved
  • Ensure team adheres to timelines and meets cleanliness standards while providing feedback and corrective action as required
  • Ensure positive communication between Lead roles and Lodge Attendant team to ensure smooth operations from one day to the next continuity
  • Lead team while providing clear communication for day-to-day and next-day operations
  • Liaise and cross-share information with WAC Lead roles and teams ensuring smooth operations
  • Assist Supervisor with preparation of bi-weekly staff schedule
  • Maintain inventory levels of housekeeping related items such as cleaners, linens and related items
  • Provide Supervisor with required quantity and inventory list(s) in order to ensure product levels are maintained and that smooth back of house operations can be carried out
  • Lead Lodge Attendant team by example through modeling organizational values and behaviours
  • Daily cleaning of rooms and washrooms; maintaining high standard of cleanliness
  • Adhere to WorkSafeBC, BC Safety Authority and any other applicable governing agency safety regulations including WHMIS and equipment safe procedures and protocols
  • Ensure all common spaces are well maintained on a daily basis
  • Carry out daily restocking of all housekeeping supply and linen rooms; reporting any shortages for reordering purposes
  • Remove all dirty linens and garbage to their designated areas
  • Document all damage or deficiencies, including mechanical and electrical issues to the Manager/Supervisor
  • Label and submit all lost and found items to the Manager/Supervisor immediately
  • Clean High Performance Centre offices and public spaces weekly and after events/meetings
  • Liaise with Canadian Sport Institute staff for cleaning needs and cleaning schedule
  • Provide a high level of guest service including being courteous, helpful, knowledgeable and informative
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor
  • Carry out Whistler Sport Legacies’ customer service philosophy AIM:  All Interactions Matter
  • Assist team with other duties as assigned or required
Education/Experience: 
  • High School education an asset
  • May be required to complete an RCMP background check

Physical Requirements: 
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform physical work including bending, lifting, standing, pushing and pulling of housekeeping carts
